Tony G Breaks World Record For Biggest Poker Hand Ever Won

Well-known poker personality Antanas Guoga aka Tony G just smashed the world record for the largest poker hand ever won in online poker. The poker pro was playing on the crypto-based poker platform called CoinPoker when he broke the world record. When the final card was dealt, Tony G won a whopping $7,750,652 pot. The game played was a three-handed $5,000/$10,000 PLO (Pot Limit Omaha) game.

Tony G is one of the most renowned poker players in the world. He appeared in many World Series of Poker (WSOP) broadcasts on ESPN. He made it to five WSOP final tables and cashed 20 times for $1,607,711 in WSOP earnings. He’s also been successful in live poker tournaments and has total live earnings of $8,823,531 according to Hendon Mob.

As per the betting rules in PLO, the maximum betting is restricted to the size of the pot. This means the pot remains relatively small in size. However, in this PLO game, there was no difference in rules when compared to an all-in No-Limit Hold’em game as the pot size grew quickly. In the winning hand, Tony G flopped a 10-J-Q-K-A straight while his opponent Hannibal Getya was chasing the nut flush and a full house. Just this January, Tony G was involved in a record-setting $1.8 million poker hand against the owner of King’s Resort, Leon Tsoukernik.

CoinPoker, the platform on which this record-breaking hand was played, has been gaining popularity steadily. According to the platform, it is a ‘crypto-based poker room created by players, for players.’ This site has also partnered with other high-profile players like Simonin Own aka ‘Hasheur’ and Rob Campbell aka ‘robcampbell.’

According to Mark Pearson at Vegas Slots Online, Tony G has pushed for bitcoin in the European Parliament. Apart from CoinPoker, there are also other crypto-based poker platforms, with poker legend Phil Ivey backing one of them.
