APPT Manila 2022: Ashish Munot Grabs Third Title For India!


The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila 2022 by PokerStars LIVE continued its successful run and India saw another title come home. Poker pro Ashish Munot championed Event #17: ₱100,000 NLH 6 Handed. Indians are shipping multiple titles, and Munot has added to the ever-growing tally.

The ₱100K tournament was the third tournament on the schedule and was the most popular event in the series so far. The tournament drew in a total of 45 entries, out of which 26 were unique players and 19 were re-entries. The event generated ₱4,015,800 in total prize pool up. The fast-paced action saw players keep their eye on the top prize of ₱1,362,800 (~$24,525).

In the end, it was poker pro Ashish Munot who clinched the prestigious PokerStars LIVE title. This was Munot’s second final table appearance of the series, and he won the first-place prize of ₱1,362,800 (~₹19,34,362). This is also Munot’s first PokerStars LIVE title.

He entered into the final table heads-up against American poker player Victorino Torres with a chip lead which he maintained throughout the FT. When heads-up started the Indian pro had a stack of 730,000 while Torres had 611,000. The blinds were at 6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 big blind ante.

The final hand saw the pair commit all the chips on the turn on a board of Qx Tx 3x 9x. Torres’ ace-ten offsuit was out flopped by Munot’s queen-seven suited. Torres took ₱944,000 (~$16,926) for his runner-up finish. Gaurav Sood also made it to the FT and finished in fifth place for ₱362,000 (~₹5,13,837). He brought home the first APPT title of the series after he shipped the Deepstack event for ₱555,000 (~₹7,87,933).
