World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Kartik Ved, joined the Indian contingent this year at 2021 WSOP hoping to claim another bracelet. However, it looks like the bracelet has slipped from his hands once again. Event #65: $1,000 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold’em, witnessed Ved busting at the 77th spot for $5305.
The Indian poker pro was among the 282 players who reached Day 2 of the event that had a player field of 3,821. Pitted against many of the world’s top poker pros, Ved’s 77th place finish is a commendable feat.
Day 2 of the $1,000 buy-in event was filled with players who wanted to nail the top spot. Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Georgios Sotiropoulos currently holds the chip lead while going into the final table.
It has been an exciting week for the Indian contingent at the 2021 WSOP in Las Vegas. While no Indian player has clinched the gold bracelet yet, the stellar performance of the Indian players is hard to ignore. Just yesterday, Vikranth Anga recorded the highest Indian score at the 2021 WSOP. He finished 8th in Event #64 $5,000 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha for$53,824. Poker pro Dhaval Mudgal also made an ITM finish in Event #61: $600 Deepstack Championship No-Limit Hold’em where is busted in the 30th position for around $7,000.
However, the hope for another bracelet is not quite lost. Fellow Indian, Vidur Sethi who finished 24th in Event #64 and 11th for $8,535 in Event #50 has qualified for Day 2 of the 2021 WSOP Main Event after surviving Day 1A. He currently has a chip count of 226,200 and it will be exciting to see if he makes it to the top. Until then keep reading Gutshot Magazine for more updates on WSOP 2021.
