The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022 is almost over, with one of the last events the Tournament of Champions, currently underway. The event which is a freeroll tournament for all the bracelet winners and circuit ring winners saw a total entry field of 470 champions playing this event.
Day 1 of the event saw 463 entrants, out of which the top 144 players made their way to Day 2. The late-registration for the tournament was on till early on Day 2, and was expected to see several entries from the 575 eligible players, however, the participation was rather limited.
The WSOP 2022 Main Event winner Espen Jorstad entered the tournament late on Day 2, and happened to be the final player to enter the Tournament of Champions. WSOP shared the news on Twitter saying, “The final player to enter the WSOP Tournament of Champions is Main Event Champion @UhlenPoker. That brings the total field to 470 players. Payout information coming shortly.”

While the champion made it to the tournament in time, it seems like things didn’t turn out the way he expected. He replied to the tweet saying “Last player in, first player out. 😂See you next year! 👋”

In his Instagram story, Jorstad also apologized to his fans for not replying to their wishes and messages.
Within a few hours of elimination, the Norway-based player was seen hitting the gym and taking a tour around Las Vegas.
Day 2 of the Tournament of Champions ended earlier today with the top 16 progressing to the final day. The top 16 will now battle it out with an average stack of 881,250 chips, for a prize pool of $1,000,000. Canada’s Jonathan Woof is leading the pack with 2,190,000 chips.
