WPT World Championship: FT Set With Andrew Lichtenberger Chip Leading

The World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship 2023 is getting steamier as the final table is set with six players in contention. The final table contenders are Ben Heath, Artur Martirosian, Dan Sepiol, Chris Moorman, Georgios Sotiropoulos and Andrew Lichtenberger.

The final table of this coveted event has Lichtenberger as the chip leader with a stack of 148,200,000 (124 big blinds). He is followed by Chris Moorman who has a stack of 88,300,000 (74 big blinds). The third highest chip stack belongs to Georgios Sotiropoulos from Athens Greece, who sits with 46,200,000 chips (39 big blinds).

Talking post the final table being set, the chip lead of the WPT World Championship 2023 mentioned about taking good rest in between events. He said, “I think I slept for nine hours last night. I actually made a pact with myself a few months ago, I’d gone to Monaco to play the Triton series and I feel like I didn’t do the best job recovering in between events.”

Lichtenberger further added, “It’s hard, you know – you’re on the road, you don’t have access to all your stuff that you’re used to at home. And I could tell that that’s really what was holding me back. So moving forward from that, I really resigned myself  like, If you’re gonna play serious poker, this is what I have to do.”

Coming to WPT December 2023, the event turned out pretty well for Indian-origin poker pro Santhosh Suvarna who made the final table in the $1 Million buy-in Big One For One Drop event.

Suvarna couldn’t finish in the money but made history by being the first Indian to make final table in this coveted event. The heavy-duty tournament was eventually nailed by Mikita Badziakouski from Belarus for over $7 Million in payday.

The WPT Prime Championship event was shipped by Calvin Anderson $13,86,280. He emerged victorious from a massive entry field of 10,512. Aaron Pinson took the runner-up spot for a sum of $910,000.
