We all know Phil Ivey is fondly regarded as the Greatest of All Times (G.O.A.T) of the poker world. Undoubtedly, he’s one of the best poker players that the fraternity has ever witnessed. But ever wondered what poker pro Daniel Negreanu thinks about Ivey?

Negreanu is known to be one of the most vocal and media-loving players in the world. Undoubtedly, both Ivey and Negreanu are two of the most regarded players in the world. In one of his YouTube podcasts, Negreanu recently shared his views on Ivey being called the poker G.O.A.T.

In the video, the host Lex Friedman questioned DNegs who he thinks is the greatest poker player of all time and if he too would name Phil Ivey. To this, the Canadian pro answered, “For me, until someone knocks him off the podium, the King of poker and the G.O.A.T is Phil Ivey.” He further explains the reason why he thinks so.

He explains, “Poker is more than one game. It has different variants like Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, Triple Draw and more. And Phil in every arena, has been dominant. Whether it was tournament poker, Ivey dominated it. Mixed High-stakes poker in Bobby’s room and dominated it! Online poker against all the wizards dominated! And he made millions in every arena.”

DNegs further adds that although Ivey took a few years away from the game due to legal troubles and more but now he’s back. “He is back at playing the High Roller series. He comes with a tenacity and focus that’s unparalleled. And when he’s in the zone, he has a lot of mannerisms, which reminds me of a combination of Micheal Jordan and Tiger Woods,” the six-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner adds.
