Wednesday Round Up: Mahboobani, Patni, Rajguru & Bothra Won Big Post A Poker Slugfest


Wednesday wasn’t a great start for pros but several mystery players made it to the top. Among the winners were Kunal Patni, Sahil Mahboobani, Advait Rajguru, and Deepak Bothra. The action was equally intense yesterday. Let’s do a quick recap of the tournaments that took place on Spartan Poker, PokerBaazi, Adda52, and PokerStars

Destiny – ₹28 Lakh GTD

The Destiny tournament on Spartan Poker had 577 entries and Kunal Patni aka ‘NutsTodayBluffTomo’ shipped this tourney. After firing two bullets, Patni made ₹6,42,510 in prize money. The runner-up of this tournament was ‘borntrouble’ who cashed ₹5,69,189.

The final table of this destiny tournament was filled with several established as well as mystery players. The top 50 players were paid a min-cash of ₹14,425. The player who busted at the 50th position was none other than Raman Gujral aka ‘tathagat.’ The bubble boy in this tournament was Rishab Malik aka ‘NoChanc3’ who re-entered thrice and still fell short of making in the money.

Though Patni made it to the top, he defeated ‘Majestic’ (3rd position, ₹2,66,862), Rajiv Srivastava aka ‘BHAI HO THO AISA’ (4th position, ₹1,90,410 ), ‘natokos’ (5th position, ₹1,21,170) and Ankit Wadhawan aka ‘Shippament’ (6th position, ₹1,00,975).

Other notable pros who also tried their hand at this tournament were Avadh Shah aka ‘cateyes’, who busted in 8th position for ₹63, 470, Mohak Kapoor aka ‘Tiltin’ who busted right after him and cashed ₹54,815. 

This was a star studded tourney, with players like Myron Pereira (44th position, ₹14,425), Nikhil Yadav (48th position, ₹14,425), Sumit Sapra (34th position, ₹15,869), Siddharth Pandey (32nd position, ₹15,867), WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (28th position, ₹17,310) , Shardul Parthasarathi (25th position, ₹21,637), Sanish Chhabra (22nd position, ₹21,637) who finished in the money.

While these grinders managed to make it in the money, Gokul Raj (54th position), Sanat Mehrotra (53th position), Alok Birewar (55th position), Surbhit Grover (57th position) and Arsh Grover (61st position) could not even get min-cash for their efforts.

The advertised guarantee of this tournament was ₹28 Lakh which was surpassed and a slightly bigger prize pool of ₹28,85,000 was formed.

DOPT Wednesday Feature – ₹17 Lakh GTD

The Deltin Online Poker Tournament (DOPT) Wednesday Feature was a two way deal between Advait Rajguru aka ‘Ronaldinho018’ and mystery player ‘ruzzanaire77.’ While Rajguru made ₹2,83,031, the mystery player took home ₹2,79,121. Chasing the winning title were several other pros like Siddhanth Kapoor aka ‘bullzeyepower’ who busted in 3rd position for ₹1,74,285. 

The tournament had 729 entries in total and the top 80 players were paid a min-cash of ₹7,643. The advertised guarantee of this tournament was ₹17 Lakh but it was surpassed and the new prize pool stood at ₹18,22,489.

DOPT PKO – ₹15 Lakh GTD 

The DOPT PKO Bounty tournament on Adda52 had 301 entries in total. The top 30 players were paid a min-cash ₹12,040. The ₹6,600 buy-in tournament was shipped by Deepak Bothra aka ‘bothras’ who cashed ₹3,85,280. 

Bothra had 14 bounties to his credit. He was followed by Devrat Singh aka ‘Vickypune’ who won ₹2,29,513 in prize money and had 12 bounties in total. The advertised guarantee of ₹15 Lakh was surpassed by a thin margin and the new prize pool stood at ₹15,05,003.

The Pride – ₹10 Lakh GTD

The Pride tournament on PokerBaazi was shipped ‘bencb789’ who won ₹2,69,000 in prize money, This mystery player clinched the top spot by pushing aside online reg Vishnu Khandelwal aka ‘violator’ with ₹1,88,000 in prize money and Sanish Chhabra aka ‘Sanish21’ with ₹1,21,000. 

The final table had poker stalwarts from the industry getting into a slugfest for The Pride tournament. Though an anonymous player made it to the top, others on the table were Vishnu Khandelwal, Sanish Chhabra, Aman Parekh (4th position, ₹89,670), Sanat Mehrotra (5th position, ₹67,250), Naman Puri (6th position, ₹53,800), Anmol Narang (7th position, ₹44,840), and Aniket Waghmare (8th position, ₹53,870). 

Other players who made it in the money were Kanchan Sharma (16th position, ₹13,710), Aditya Singh (18th position, ₹13,710), Guruprasad Gupta (20th positon, ₹12,040), Sanket Arora (21st position, ₹12,040) and Shardul Parthsarathi (26th position, ₹9,479). 

The pride tournament had 366 entries in total and the top 45 players were paid a min-cash of ₹7,173. The advertised guarantee of this tournament was ₹10 Lakh but it was surpassed and a slightly bigger prize pool of ₹12,81,000 was formed.

Summer Series – 82 [Night on Stars] – ₹12 Lakh GTD

PokerStars recently launched the Summer Series, the 82nd tournament was shipped by Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘inaboobham’ who cashed ₹2,28,487. The runner up in this tournament was Tanmay Sahoo aka ‘tks5432’ who won ₹1,71,087 in prize money. This ₹3,850 buy-in tournament had 289 entries in total and the top 35 players were paid a min-cash of ₹11,082. 

Other players who chased the winning title were mystery user ‘Yuvraajpaul’ (4th position, ₹95,925), Anurag Srivastava (17th position, ₹15,818). Harsh Dembla, Arsh Grover (37th position), and Kunal Patni could not make it in the money too.
