USOP 2023: Vishal Ojha Wins The Main Event, His Maiden Live Title

It is time for all Indian poker fans to celebrate as poker pro Vishal Ojha shipped the coveted USOP 2023 Hanoi Main Event. The pro made the final table with a stack of 6,200,000 while the final table chip lead Tan Xiao Hui had a stack of 10,010,000 chips. The Indian pro successfully turned the table in his favour and nailed the prestigious title and trophy. 

Vishal Ojha Ships USOP 2023 Hanoi Main Event

After nearly nine of some power-packed poker on the live felts of Crown Poker Club, Ojha beat competition and topped the table to grab the numero uno spot at the highly anticipated USOP 2023 Hanoi Main Event. 

The Indian pro who’s also an online reg, battled a record breaking field of 1,336 to take home a hefty pay cheque of VND 4,952,000,000 (~ ₹1,70,69,357).

As per reports by Somuchpoker.com, the event ended after an ICM deal was struck between the heads-up rival. The runner-up, Mai Bien from Vietnam had a payday of  VND 4,298,000,000.

The USOP 2023 Hanoi Main Event

This much awaited tourney had a buy-in of VND 25,000,000 (~USD 1,057) with the advertised guarantee standing at VND 2,000,000,000 (~USD 500,000). The final prize pool generated was VND 29,158,200,000 (~USD 1,212,000). 

The top 168 places were paid and the min-cash was VND 50,000. The Main Event ran from 7th to 11th September 2023 with four starting flights and finally saw India’s Vishal Ojha emerge victorious. 

Day 1A: 268 entries (175 unique)

Day 1B: 357 entries (214 unique)

Day 1C: 433 entries (285 unique)

Day 1D (Turbo): 278 entries (153 unique)

Ojha was asked about his participation in the USOP 2023 Main Event in Hanoi. The Indian pro replied saying, “I’ve been grinding online events, specifically these Sunday games. Once I reached that level of my bankroll to attend live events, I decided to come over.”
