US Poker Open 2024: Matthew Wantman Ships Event 5


Matthew Wantman won Event #5: $10,100 NL Hold’em at the 2024 U.S. Poker Open for $239,200. Wantman topped a field of 92 entries, which included defeating Daniel Negreanu in heads-up play. The performance was Wantman’s second cash of the series following his 10th-place finish in Event #2.

In addition to Matthew Wantman’s win, notable finishes were had by Daniel Negreanu in second place, Erik Seidel in third place, Victoria Livschitz in fourth place, and Rodger Johnson in 14th place. Negreanu continued his hot 2024 with his 10th PGT cash and moved into third on the season-long PGT leaderboard.

Seidel placed third after winning the opening event of the 2024 U.S. Poker Open. Livschitz cashed for a fourth consecutive time at the 2024 U.S. Poker Open, a streak that includes to final tables. Johnson cashed for a fifth consecutive time, finishing in the money in the first five tournaments of the series.
