One of the most accomplished tournament and cash game poker pro Daniel ‘kid poker’ Negreanu, has won multiple cash game events since he won the two events in 1997 World Poker Finals. He won $133,600 and was also named the tournament’s best all-around player. Since then he has amassed six World Series of Poker Bracelets, two World Poker Tour Championship and reached many WPT and WSOP final tables.
Along with winning various other tournament titles, Negreanu was named the 2004 Card Player ‘Player of the Year’ and the WSOP Player of the Year. He was also named the 2004-05 WPT Player of the Year. In his journey to fame, 2013 was particularly special. Let’s take a look how good 2013 was for the six time WSOP champ!
Beginning with 2013, Negreanu had four WSOP bracelets and hadn’t won one since 2008. Negreanu had another unbelievable year, emerging victorious in the 2013 WSOP APAC: A$10,000 Main Event No-Limit Hold’em to claim his fifth bracelet. He wasn’t done yet, Negreanu topped an elite field of 80 players to earn his second title of the year, his sixth WSOP gold bracelet in the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe €25,600 no-limit high roller
In 2004, the Canadian had cashed five times at WSOP events and also won a gold bracelet, thus becoming the WSOP Player of the Year (POY) for the very first time. Kid poker earned the honour of becoming the first ever poker pro to win the WSOP POY twice, riding on his 10 cashes in WSOP events in 2013 leading with 672 points.

Being the most popular and favourite player of poker enthusiast. Some of Negreanu’s success is attributed to his ability to read opponents. When asked about this skill, Negreanu explained that the most important skill he employs is observing what hands his opponents play and how capable they are of playing them.
Last years WSOP, Negreanu was on his way to claim his third POY title but in an epic turn of events, and because of an inaccuracy it was revealed that kid poker was not the rightful winner. Unfortunately due points miscalculation he failed to claim the title and the WSOP POY title was rightfully awarded to Campbell.
