The unique team-base format of Poker Sports League (PSL) is among the first of its kind in India. The never-seen-before blend of professional and amateur players is one that truly sets it apart. With these features, the poker league has paved the way for all kinds of players to express their love for poker under one platform. The teams for this year’s PSL Season 3 Virtual are Goan Nuts, Gujarat Falcons, Delhi Czars, Kolkata Kings, Deccan Aces and Mumbai Anchors. Two more teams: Bengaluru Legends and Chennai Troopers were added. We’ll take a deeper look into Mumbai Anchors.
Puneet Mehra, Mehul Shah and Rishikesh Shah are the trio in charge of the team. Mehra is a sports enthusiast and co-founded a sports education company in 2011. Mehul Shah heads the Anchor Group and is an angel investor for startups like sportobuddy.com. Rishikesh Shah is an Electronics engineer who further pursued a MBA from the US. Rishikesh joined his father’s business, which gave him exposure in fields like finance, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and construction. Rishikesh Shah also launched his own venture called Rivipac. Cricket and golf is something Rishikesh enjoys in his leisure time, as he is known to be a sports lover.
The team is captained by Nikita Luther, India’s second WSOP bracelet winner and the only Indian woman to do so. Luther’s strong poker skills is a definite bonus for the team. Giving Mumbai Anchors a bit of an edge is wildcard, Conor O Driscoll from Ireland and professional players Nishant Sharma and Akshay Nasa. With hashtag qualifiers Raj Juneja and Nikhil Segel and Season 3 qualifiers: Honey Bijlani and Manish Miglani in the team, Mumbai Anchors is ready to rock PSL Season 3 Virtual.
