Poker Rooms Reopens in Vietnam after COVID-19 Cases Drop to Zero

As soon as the coronavirus was found lingering in Wuhan City before a widespread pandemic, Vietnam was one of the only countries to take all the possible precautions. A brilliant strategic reaction from the country has kept the COVID-19 pandemic under wraps with just a little over 360 cases and zero deaths, as of today and yes, that’s true! They have managed to keep the virus at bay with aggressive tracing of the virus from the people who have travelled during that time.

The Southeast Asian country has been successful in monitoring and tracking the virus through apps and campaigns. Nonetheless, this has paused all economic revenues on all platforms. And casinos have been a victim to this pandemic too.

As of today, poker rooms in Vietnam are back in business, but with the borders closed people from nearby countries will have to wait to ante up. The Suncity Casino reopened on June 28 and the first poker tournament in Hanoi took place this weekend with almost 400 enthusiasts showing up.

The government has strict rules of native citizens from playing poker within the country. Although, they do not have rules imposed on foreigners or Vietnamese citizens holding a foreign passport and can enter gaming clubs and casinos. Although, poker is not the only game to bet your money on in Vietnam. They are some traditional games that have been going on since generations like cock fighting, Bao Cua, and even fish fighting.

Many casinos and live poker rooms have reopened since April and that includes the aptly named Corona Resort and Casino on Phu Quoc Island. Strict safety policies have been given to the staff and customers as we stand against this virus. Business has begun but won’t be back to normal soon. Online poker rooms have come in to fill the gap, which has allowed people from around the world to play under one roof and in the comfort of their respected houses.
