Nominations For Global Poker Awards 2022 Out!

The nominations for the third Global Poker Awards (GPA) have been announced. The awards ceremony will be hosted on 18th February at PokerGO Studio in Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The ceremony will be live-streamed on PokerGO as well. Five players have been nominated twice among the well-known faces that made it to the list. The nominations are broadcasters Joe Stapleton, Jamie Kerstetter, Doug Polk, French poker vlogger Johan ‘YoH ViraL’ Guilbert, and Jeff Platt. Poker lovers still have time to submit their votes for the Fans Choice: Poker Personality category wherein  Greg “Greg Goes All In” Liow, Jonathan Little and Japan’s Masato Yokosawa are nominated alongside Guilbert.

Some of the GPA categories include best final table performance, GPI breakout player, players choice for the toughest opponent, best streamer, best live reporter, fans choice: best trophy, best event, best vlogger, twitter personality, best industry person, best tournament director, best podcast, best broadcaster, best media content: written, photo, fans choice: best hand, poker personality. Among some categories, the best final table finishes were entirely ruled by World Series Of Poker (WSOP) players as the four nominees are players who aced during the series. Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Koray Aldemir, Jeremy Ausmus, and Adam Friedman.

The players choice for toughest opponent category has players who have been nominated for the second time in a row, including Michael Addamo and Ali Imsirovic. Stephen Chidwick and David Peters have also been nominated in this category. A total of 26 awards will be given out at this year’s GPA, including the 2021 GPI Player of the year, PokerGO tour player of the year, PokerICON, and inaugural mid-major player of the year.
