IOPC Day 14: Abhishek Goindi Proves He’s Unstoppable


Day 14 on the virtual felts of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 witnessed some mystery players and some lesser-known players cementing their position in the poker industry. IOPC reg and poker coach Abhishek Goindi continues his winning spree. Overall the spirits on Day 14 were quite high as mystery players defeated poker pros after fighting tooth and nail. Let’s have a look at what went down on Day 14.

IOPC #82 – ₹4.25 Lakh GTD

IOPC Day 14 started off with #82 tournament, which assured a guarantee of ₹4.25 Lakh. However, the 880 entries at this tourney pushed the final guarantee to ₹4.40 Lakh. Top 71 places were paid a min-cash of ₹1,672.

The tournament was topped by Chaitanya Dhingra aka ‘baz,’ who added ₹72,103 to his bankroll. At the second spot was ‘Yaiboi,’ who had a pay day of ₹ 66,320.

IOPC #83 – ₹4.50 Lakh GTD

The second tournament of the day was IOPC #84, which was a progressive knockout tournament. It gathered 501 entries, out of which the top 39 places were paid. The final prize pool of ₹5,01,000 surpassed the initial guarantee. The min-cash paid was ₹3,111.

Rohit Singh aka ‘Madmoney007’

Rohit Singh aka ‘Madmoney007’ clinched the title and cashed ₹ 90,405. Abhiroop Gupta aka ‘Ron007’ walked away with ₹60,104 at the runner-up spot.

IOPC #84 was a ₹880 buy-in tourney that attracted 772 entries. Top 63 places managed to make it in the money and drew a min-cash of ₹2,827.

Puneet Sama aka ‘SharkyFish’

This tournament was shipped by Puneet Sama aka ‘SharkyFish.’ Sama grabbed ₹1,25,775 in prize money. At the runner-up spot was Ravi Jain aka ‘Rvjn91,’ who pocketed ₹79,300.

IOPC #85 Saturday Prime – ₹24 Lakh GTD

The biggest tournament of the day was the IOPC #85 Saturday Prime. This tournament with 617 entries generated a prize pool of ₹24,68,000 which surpassed the initial guarantee by a slim margin. Top 55 places enjoyed a piece from the prize pool; min-cash stood at ₹12,093.

Anonymous player ‘SoJaoBhaiya,’ won the tournament and laughed his way to the bank with ₹4,78,792. He was the biggest winner of the night. Siddharth Gangwar aka ‘cooking_nuts’ was seen leaving the table at the runner-up spot for ₹3,03,564.

Siddarth Singhvi (13th, ₹33,811), Bhanu Prakash (18th, ₹24,433), IOPC January 2021 winner, Laksh Pal Singh (31st, ₹17,029), WSOP bracelet winner, Kartik Ved (38th, ₹14,561), Kunal Patni with two re-entries (42nd, 12,093), Vinay Rajpal (48th, ₹12,093) were some players who made it to the top 55 paid places.

Alok Birewar with four re-entries (60th), Gutshot’s January 2021 e-magazine cover star, Gaurav Sood (61st), Vishnu Khandelwal with two re-entries (68th), Ankit Bajaj (72nd), IOPC July 2021, Blaze of Glory winner, Harshad Barve (78th), IOPC #86 winner, Abhishek Goindi (79th), Anant Purohit (84th), Sahil Mahboobani (100th), Gutshot’s ‘Player of the Month’ Anirban Das (101st), Siddhanth Kripalani (105th), Millionaire January 2020 Main Event winner, Anurag Srivastava (107th), current leaderboard topper, Anuj Yadav (109th), Shardul Parthasarathi (110th), Vikranth Varma (121st), Mohit Mehta (132nd), Millionaire Legends and Mastermind winner, Aniket Waghmare (136th), IOPC July 2021 commentators, Goonjan Mall (137th), and Kanchan Sharma (139th); Nitin Arora (173rd), Arjanveer Singh Chadha (174th) and Ankit Wadhawan with three re-entries (178th) got busted without making any money.

IOPC #86 Saturday Spotlight – ₹11 Lakh GTD

Saturday Spotlight was as usual an action-packed affair. With 584 entries, this tournament generated a final prize of ₹11,68,000, slightly over the advertised guarantee. A min-cash of ₹6,657 was paid to the top 47 places.

Abhishek Goindi aka ‘MambaMentality’

Poker coach Abhishek Goindi aka ‘MambaMentality’ grabbed the Saturday Spotlight title and added one more feather to his cap. Goindi, who sits at the sixth position on the IOPC leaderboard, took a pay cheque of ₹2,27,643. The poker champion has been winning titles consistently since IOPC July 2021 kicked off. This just shows that Goindi is unstoppable and surely has no plans of slowing down. Parth Agarwal aka ‘PufferFish’ secured the runner-up spot with ₹ 1,44,598 in his bankroll.

Current leaderboard topper and IOPC Highroller runner-up, Anuj Yadav (3rd, ₹1,08,390), IOPC January 2021 winner, Laksh Pal Singh (7th, ₹38,777), Peter Nazareth (8th, ₹28,499), Alok Birewar with two re-entries (11th, ₹19,622), Shardul Parthasarathi (18th, ₹12,031), Mohit Mehta (25th, ₹9,694), Anant Purohit (26th, ₹9,694), two time IOPC leaderboard winner, Bhanu Prakash with two re-entries (27th, ₹9,694), Neel Joshi (34th, ₹7,475) are some notable players who made it in the money.

IOPC #12 All rounder winner, Vinay Rajpal was the bubble boy at this tournament. Rajpal got busted at the 48th spot without making any money. Nitin Arora (71st), Adda52’s Game Ambassador, Kunal Patni (73rd), Anirban Das (101st) and IOPC #11 Blaze of Glory champion, Harshad Barve (114th) were some players who left the tournament empty-handed.

IOPC #87 – ₹6.75 Lakh GTD

IOPC #84 drew curtains on Day 14. The 789 entries crushed the initial guarantee to generate a final prize pool of ₹7,89,000. Top 71 places managed to draw a min-cash of ₹2,998 by finishing in the money.

Aquib Ansari aka ‘Aquib17’ clinched the top spot for ₹1,31,945. Mystery player ‘X–factor’ finished second and took a pay cheque of ₹1,16,274.
