Dominik Nitsche wins career first PokerStars SCOOP title!


Online poker platforms are screaming with high value tournaments attracting prominent names in the industry as well as newcomers. With festivals like WPT, WSOP Online Super Circuit, and of course another prestigious Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) on PokerStars, there’s plenty of options for the enthusiasts! Another day of SCOOP saw two names Dominik Nitsche and Patrick Leonard claiming titles.

Event #87-H: $530 NLHE

Event #87 of SCOOP attracted a field of 956 entries, creating a prize pool of $500K. Dominik Nitsche playing under the username ‘Bounatirou’ outlasted ‘Geokarak’ in heads-up and added $82K in prize money while his opponent settled in the second place for $58K. The champion had never won a SCOOP title until last night. The 29-year old German reigned supreme and added a valuable title to his illustrious poker CV.

With over $18 million in live winnings, the champion sits 4th in Germany’s all-time money list and over a whopping $5 million in total online earnings.

Event #93-H: $215 NLHE Turbo

The 93rd event drew a field of 460 runners who chipped in $215 in buy-in to eventually accumulate a prize pool of $232,814. After long intense hours of grinding, it was England’s Patrick Leonard who powered through the competition to claim his second SCOOP title for $41,808 in prize money. Leonard defeated ‘julioassp’ in heads-up who secured the second place payout of $30,124.

Event #88-High $530 Six Max Fusion $100,000 GTD pulled out 193 entries. And ultimately it was two-time World Championship of Online Poker title winner ‘bob43155’ who claimed the title along with $19,945.48 in prize money while his opponent ‘M1TR4ND1R’ earned $15,076.73 bankroll boost.

The six other players who took down events on Saturday were ‘Hieucbvn96’ Event #87-L, ‘eagletore69’ Event #87-M, ‘shuriken555’ Event #88-L, ‘dpsd05’ Event #88-M, ‘NeptuneProject’ Event #93-L, and ‘judgedredd13’ Event #93-M.
