Daniel Negreanu has shared a YouTube video where he has a look at most of his results from 2023 and claimed how he lost over $2 Million, which made it the “worst year” of his career. Over the past few years, Negreanu has not shied away from opening up his ledger and revealing how he did on the poker circuit in the previous year with fans.
Regarding results, 2023 was a rough year for Kid Poker, as Negreanu recorded a $2,228,174 loss in 2023. He also calls it the “worst year” of his career since he’s been keeping track. He said on his YouTube channel, “I gotta say I’ve been incredibly fortunate to only have one losing year where I lost about one million, another one where I broke even and then winning years every other year.”

Negreanu also spoke about his volume and shared that he had played the most in the previous year. Making it in 145 tournaments, 2023 saw him feature in the most events in a single year over the past decade. According to him, it is the most he has played in his career.
He is said to have cashed in 39 events (~27%), despite not counting how many entries he’s bought in for a specific event. While any player who suffers facing a $2.2 Million loss would aim to have a deep dive into what they’ve been doing, Negreanu is no different. Unstressed about his losings, Negreanu shared how he reflected on why he may have had a rough year.
He also spoke about his plan for 2024, which would include playing fewer tournaments and only when he feels like playing while also respecting his opponents.
Be it winning or losing, Negreanu will grind and make content for the fans! Speaking about the same, he says, “So when I see this number, it just motivates me, it lights a fire under my butt and, like I said, 2024 – lookout – because ‘DNegs’ is comin’ for ya.” Check out the entire video shared below.
