While the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Festival Hanoi Main Event garnered a massive player pool, there were also side events running simultaneously. The High Rollers Single Day saw two Indians, Shardul Parthasarathi and Siddhanth Kripalani make it to the event’s final table.
The event had a total of 44 entries and a prize pool of VND 1,280,400,000 (~₹43,57,808). Clinching the top title was Vietnamese player Huy Pham who had a payday of VND 401,780,000 (~₹13,67,379). He shipped the title after knocking out the last four players on the final table with one of them being Parthasarathi.
Once the final table was set with eight players, the action intensified. The first to go was Hao Seo who was eliminated by Parthasarathi in 8th place for VND 50,220,000 (~₹1,70,913). Next to go was Kripalani in 7th place after he was booted by Luu Danh Tuan. The India Poker Championship (IPC) Megastacks May 2022 Main Event winner walked away with VND 61,640,000 (~₹2,09,779).

Parthasarathi made another elimination after he busted Chu Thai Thinh in 6th place and brought the table down to five players. After this, Huy Pham dominated the felts. He first doubled up through Luu Danh Tuan and then took down Victor Lam aka Vu Hoai Lam. A few minutes later, Pham knocked out Tuan. He then eliminated Parthasarathi with pocket sixes. Parthasarathi went home with VND 186,210,000 (~₹6,33,728).
When heads up began between Pham and Nguyen, they both agreed to play till the end. Nguyen exclaimed, “This is my best friend but no deal!”
Pham had 48 BB against Nguyen’s 22 BB and was in the lead. Nguyen nearly evened the stack, but Pham widened the gap. After half an hour of heads up, Pham finally eliminated Nguyen.
Pham had 8 ♠ 8 ❤ while Nguyen’s had A ♦ 5 ❤ . The board opened to J ♠ 9 ♦ 3 ♦ on the flop and 7 ♦ came on the turn. This gave Nguyen a flush draw, however, the river K ♣ did not complete it and Pham won with his Snowmen.
