APT Philippines 2022: Abhinav Iyer And Laksh Pal Singh Move Onto Day 3 Of ME

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Philippines II hosted Day 2 of the Main Event earlier today. Held at the Resorts World Manila, the event began with 201 survivors from Day 1 flocking to the felts. The lot was led by Indian poker pro Laksh Pal Singh. The late registration for the event continued for two hours after the start of Day 2. During this time, another 85 runners participated in the event, which brought the total number to 497 entries.

At the end of Day 2 only 57 players survived and will be playing on Day 3 to reach the final table. Out of this, Indian poker pros Laksh Pal Singh and World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer are the only two Indians who have made it. Singh will start Day 3 with 129,000 chips, while Iyer will begin with 152,500 chips. Both players have had successful runs in previous APT events and will fight to make it to the final table on Day 3.

When Day 2 ended, it was Ong Dingxiang, with a stack of 589,000 chips (117 BB) who held the chip lead. The second-highest stack belonged to Korean player Hwany Lee, who was close behind with 572,000 (114 BB). Coming in third place with a 98 BB stack was Kim Jun Lee.

The buy-in of the Main Event was Php 55,000, and after a successful run, the Php 15 Million prize pool soon reached a whopping Php 24,104,500. With 57 players making it to Day 3, only the top 50 players will make it to ITM. The min-cash of the event is Php 101,900, while the winner will take home the lion’s share worth Php 5,046,000 (~US$ 88,815) along with the Main Event trophy.
