APF Vietnam 2023: Yagyavalk Bhatt Ships The Head Hunter Title


India’s Yagyavalk Bhatt has shipped Event 7, Head Hunter at the Asian Poker Festival Hanoi Vietnam 2023. The poker player took a pay cheque of VND 29,000,000 (~₹1 Lakh) for his top place finish. 

He defeated a Chinese player named Chen Qiang in heads-up to nail the top title and the coveted trophy. The runner-up added a sum of VND 17,600,000 to his bankroll for his second place finish. 

APF Hanoi Vietnam 2023 – Head Hunter

This event had a buy-in of VND 3,400,000 (~$140) which generated a final prize pool of VND 59,000,000 (~$2,430). The bounty prize pool stood at VND 37,000,000 (~$1,524) and the event paid the top five places. The min-cash paid was VND 5,670,000 and it was claimed by another Indian poker player named Abhishek Srivatsa.

Asian Poker Festival Hanoi, Vietnam 2023

This poker fiesta ran from 7th to 13th December 2023 and saw many poker enthusiasts and Asian pros grinding at the event. Many Indian pros like Amit Kaushik, Zarvan Tumboli, Laksh Pal Singh and Dhaval Mudgal were also grinding in the series. 

The abovementioned pros also made the final table of the prestigious APF Main Event. Singh, Tumboli, Mudgal busted over the course of the final table and Kaushik finished runner-up. The winner of the APF Main Event had a prize money worth VND 2.68 Billion on offer. 

Another poker pro Pratibh Saluja emerged victorious in Event #25: Hyper Turbo III Closer. This was Saluja’s second live title and he had a payday of VND 31.684 Million (₹1.08 Lakh) for his APF title. It was an all-Indian heads-up session where Saluja beat Samyau Jain who ended up pocketing VND 27.315 Million (₹93,442) for his runner-up finish.

Talking about Bhatt, the champion of APF Vietnam 2023 Event 7, he had previously shipped his maiden live title at the Manila Super Series 18. This poker player in September 2023 emerged victorious in Event 8 Win The Button at the Asian series and had a payday of PHP 68,276 (~USD 1,202 / ₹99,918). 

The APF win is Bhatt’s second live title. Going by this poker player’s determination to win big, we won’t be surprised to see more live titles coming his way.
