WSOP Reveal Plans For Live Events In 2021


The biggest poker event in the world, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) has just announced its plans for 2021. The highly anticipated WSOP live events will once again commence for the  2021 edition. This comeback also includes the popular USD 10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship or ‘The Main Event’ as it is best known.

Ever since live events were cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many poker players around the world have been waiting for the day when they would return. With 2021 bringing new hopes, the announcement that WSOP will be back with its live events is a cause of celebration for many poker fans around the world.

Back in 2019, the famous poker tournament series experienced a massive turnout and even adopted a hybrid format in 2020 to accommodate travelling restrictions. Now, an in-persons live event will be hosted at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas once all pending applications and regulatory plans are approved.

The mega poker event is set to kick start on 30 September and will feature a special charity event for frontline health workers. A USD 25,000 H.O.R.S.E and a USD 5 Million GTD No-Limit Hold’em event titled ‘The Reunion’ are also slated to take place.

WSOP Reveal Plans For Live Events In 2021

The flights for the Main Event of this series will begin on 4 November, 2021 while the entire Main Event series will run till 17 November. There will be four flights hosted from 4 – 7 November (one flight per day) where players of the first two flights will have their Day 2 on 8 November. Players from the third and fourth flight will have their Day 2 on 9 November. The fields will then combine on 10 November.

All Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas resorts are now accepting hotel room reservations for the event, and this includes rooms in the Rio All-Suite Hotel as well. Rates for the rooms are starting at a low price of USD 60 for Caesars Rewards members.

Talking about this big news, Ty Stewart, the Executive Director of WSOP, commented, “This year, more than ever, we embrace our role at the WSOP to deliver memorable experiences and bring this community of poker lovers back together. The theme for 2021 is to get vaccinated and get back to Vegas.”
