WSOP 2023 ME Breaks 17 Year Long Record; Registers Highest Number Of Entries Ever

Yes it finally happened when the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Main Event (ME) 2023 broke the 17-year long record of having the highest number of entries in the Main Event. 9,089 is the number of entries showing as per reported numbers. 

This also means, there will be ME winner this year who will cross the $12 Million mark in prize money which Jamie Gold took home after securing the top spot and the coveted ME bracelet. 

When the WSOP 2023 was announced, many had predicted that this year the ME will definitely break the record. And that finally happened thanks to the overwhelming number of players who showed up to grind in the highly awaited event of the year.  

The 17-year wait is over – we have a new World Series of Poker Main Event entry record!

With 8,830 entries and counting, and registration open until 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, the previous Main Event record of 8,773 will be shattered.

What more happened at WSOP 2023?

This year was special as Phil Hellmuth added one more bracelet to his tally. He secured his 17th WSOP gold bracelet in the Super Turbo Bounty event. Like a boss on the very first of the heads up clash, the Palo Alto resident nailed the title and his record-setting 17th WSOP bracelet.

Pros like Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey had some deep runs but have failed to secure the top spot. Jeremy Ausmus added to his bracelet tally. Chris Brewer grabbed two WSOP gold bracelets. Another pro who added to his bracelet tally is Nick Schulman. He nailed the Seven Card Stud game to win his 4th bracelet like a true stud.

Indians grinding at the WSOP 2023

The Indian contingent grinding the ongoing WSOP, are still on the hunt for a bracelet. So far, we have seen Kunal Patni make a final table. Aditya Agarwal and Anshul Kulshrestha are grinding in Day 1D of the ME to make it to Day 2. Patni has managed to find a bag for Day 2.
