WSOP Main Event: Player Pulled His Shorts Down And Threw A Shoe At The Dealer

Oh dear god! Yeah that’s what onlookers said when they saw a player pull his pants down, thereby exposing his genitalia during World Series Of Poker (WSOP) 2019 Main Event Dy 1C. Did he stop at that? No he did not. This player who reportedly suffers from mental health issues, took out his shoe and threw it at the dealer.

PokerNews.com reported this incident in an Instagram post. This post did not name the poker player, and mentioned that they are keeping the player’s name anonymous, as the player had admitted to having mental health issues.

WSOP 2019 Main Event Day 1C

The incident of indecent exposure at WSOP 2023 Day 1C took place in full public view. Before the infamous player pulled his pants down to shock everyone round, he moved all-in and stood up on his seat. Even before his rival made the call, the player with mental health issues just dropped his shorts and threw his shoe at the dealer.

The bigger question is what did the WSOP staff do? The WSOP management reportedly disqualified this player and got rid of him. Aren’t bad beats and bust outs enough to cause mental trauma, that players grinding at WSOP Main Event have to bear with indecent exposure?

One more disqualification WSOP 2019 Dy 1C

Apart from the anonymous player fiasco, there was one more player named Georgii Belianin who robbed chips from another player seated to his left. Interestingly, Belianin was smiling as he reached out to rob his neighbouring player’s chips. This player was then disqualified and not refunded for his buy-in.

Another odd thing was Phil Ivey playing Day 1C from the bowling alley. The 10-time WSOP bracelet winner was reportedly agitated over grinding in an awkward space. The number of players who showed up for Day 1C led the WSOP staff filling random rooms with poker tables to accommodate the overwhelming number of entries.
