WSOP 2023 Main Event: Phil Hellmuth Turns Into Hugh Jackman

Don’t we all know how much Phil Hellmuth likes to play dress up at World Series Of Poker (WSOP)? Sure we all do. Year after year, the 17th-time WSOP bracelet winner has put up a show with his grand costumes and grandiloquent entrances. This year at the 54th edition of the WSOP, we have yet another spectacular entrance from Hellmuth.

One of the greatest poker pros in the world, Hellmuth came dressed as Hugh Jackman from The Greatest Showman. But wait. He was not alone. Hellmuth came with Dan Cates dressed as the caged lion. We are not kidding you. Take a look below.

Phil Hellmuth’s WSOP ME Costumes

Hellmuth’s WSOP ME costumes have a legacy of their own. Trust us when we say, he spares no effort when it comes to playing with costumes. The Palo Alto resident had dressed up as Gandalf (WSOP 2022), Thor (WSOP 2018), Julius Caesar (WSOP 2009) among other characters over the years. 

News reports state that Hellmuth came dressed as a NASCAR driver and a boxer. Cates also has some impressive get ups to his credit. He came dressed as Terminator at the WSOP 2023.

Talking about Hellmuth turning into Hugh Jackman, if we were to critique this outfit, then we surely would give it a 7/10 on the rating scale. He put in a lot of effort, but it wasn’t replicated as per the original look in the movie. The entourage was a visual delight and full marks to Hellmuth to make Cates aka ‘Jungleman’ his lion.
