A TV Series Based On Muskan Sethi Is In Works?

Female poker pro Muskan Sethi is all set to have a biopic on her story. Juggernaut Productions recently announced that they have acquired the rights to produce a television series that will be based on Sethi.

Sethi is one of the first female poker players in the country. Additionally, in 2018, she also awarded with a National Award of ‘First Ladies’ by the then President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

Sethi reportedly said that with the show, she wants to encourage people who are pursuing a career path different from the norms idolised in society. The female pro got early exposure to the game of poker at the age of 11 years. Her father used to watch a lot of poker videos, and she got exposed to the game through him.

She started playing as a hobby, which eventually turned into a full-fledged career for her. Over the years, she has competed in some of the biggest poker tournaments, including the World Series of Poker (WSOP), and the European Poker Tour (EPT), among many others.

Sethi was quoted saying, “I believe it’s important to tell and hear each other’s stories. I hope to debunk myths around poker. It would be a dream come true if poker players attain the support and training to put India on the map. After all, this is the land of great mathematicians and inventors.”

Samar Khan, CEO of Juggernaut Productions, stated that their studio focuses on illustrating the stories of strong women characters that break the stereotypes and pursue something the unconventional way that is different from the common.

Talking about Sethi, Khan said, “For us, Muskan’s story has immense merit, and through this endeavour, we hope to break the notions about the game. It is a sport and not just a game of luck. I believe the audience is eager to watch differentiated and aspiring stories. We are happy that Muskan has joined hands with us for the same.”

In 2018, Sethi also became the first female sponsored pro from India after PokerStars signed her as their brand ambassador. However, their association ended in 2012. In November last year, Sethi, along with poker pro and coach Abhishek Goindi, were signed as a part of their Team Pro by PokerBaazi.
