WSOP 2023: Avneesh Munjal Turns Chip Leader At The End Of Mini Main Event Day 1

Indian fans keeping a tab on the Indian contingent grinding at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023 have a big reason to smile. Indian pro and well-known name in the circuit Avneesh Munjal has bagged the chip lead at the end of Day 1 of the $1,000 Mini Main Event. The Indian will enter Day 2 of the game with a chip stack of 3,250,000  (81 BB). He’s not the only Indian who managed to bag and tag at the end of Day 1. WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant also qualified for Day 2 with a stack of 425,000 chips. Sushant posted about him finding a bag for Day 2 of the Mini Main Event on his Instagram Stories.

WSOP 2023

This much awaited event had 5,257 entries which generated a prize pool of $4,678,730. The players grinded up to Level 22 and will return for Day 2 for a top prize worth $549,555. Other Indian players who were grinding in this tournament who couldn’t qualify were Nathan Rao and Paawan Bansal. With Avneesh Munjal leading the charge into Day 2 of the Mini Main Event, the hopes of India winning a WSOP bracelet in this event are strong.

Talking about the Indian contingent at the ongoing WSOP 2023, we have Zarvan Tumboli, Kunal Patni, Akshay Nasa, PokerBaazi Team Pros, Abhishek Goindi and Muskan Sethi, and Nikita Luther also grinding. So far we have seen Patni reaching a final table, but the hunt for a bracelet continues.
