WSOP 2020: Kristen Bicknell Wins Her Third Gold Bracelet!

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) never backs down from creating history and so did the online version. The Canadian pro and the GPI Female Player of the Year (POY) for third time straight, Kristen Bicknell took down WSOP Online Event #44: $2,500 NLHE 6-Handed on GGPoker while Nick Guagenti won WSOP Event #29: $2,000 NLH Deepstack on WSOP.com.

WSOP Event #44: $2,500 NLHE 6-Handed

The 44th bracelet event registered 892 entries, collecting a whopping $2.11 million prize pool. Kristen Bicknell who already owns two WSOP bracelets was among the shorter stack on the final table. After 9 hours, Bicknell outlasted the entire field beating Belarmino ‘Iseey0urcard’ De Souza in heads-up an impressive $356,412 in prize money. After her win Bicknell told Pokernews, “I’m shaking right now! I’m celebrating with some Uber Eats orders for a buffet lol.”

Money reached the top 116 players including India’s ‘pokerplayer’ (53rd, $$7,453), Danny Tang (21, $11,697), Ben Affleck (15, $15,958) and so on. Bicknell’s first WSOP win was back in 2013 at the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Ladies Championship. It was also her first-ever live tournament victory and six-figure paycheck. Three years later, he grabbed her second bracelet at $ 1,500 No Limit Hold’em Bounty for $290,768. The champ has over $5.09 million in live earnings, ranking 16th in Canada’s all-time money list.

The event concluded with the final hand that saw Bicknell call on the button and De Souza check. The flop came {k-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and De Souza check-raised and which Bicknell called. The turn {5-Hearts}, river {j-Spades} completed the board and De Souza shoved for 2.5 million for Bicknell to call. De Souza held {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} but Bicknell’s {q-Spades}{5-Clubs} for trip fives gave her the third bracelet for $356,412!
