USOP Da Nang 2024 Part 1 ME: Alok Birewar Finishes 9th


The coveted Main Event of the U Series of Poker (USOP) Da Nang Part 1 saw Indian pro Alok Birewar finish in the ninth position for a payday of VND 712,800,000 (₹2,394,590). The VND 30,000,000 (~USD 1,235) buy-in event had 1,702 total entries. The advertised guarantee of VND 15,000,000,000 (~USD 614,500) was crushed and the final prize pool stood at an impressive VND 44,575,300,000 (~USD 1,800,000). 

USOP Da Nang 2024 Part 1 Main Event

This event ran from 28th March to 1st April 2024. The event paid the top 213 places. Birewar was the only Indian pro who made it to the final table. In the final hand, Birewar was dealt Snowmen while his rival had Queens. On a board of K J 3 A 5 , the Indian pro couldn’t hold water and exited the game.

Apart from Birewar, other Indian players who made it in the money include names like Rishi Mehra (60th, VND 110,600,000), Nishant Kishanlal Sharma (126th, VND 72,300,000), Amit Kaushik (155th, VND 58,900,000), Dhaval Mudgal (159th, VND 58,900,000), Manish Lakhotia (162nd, VND 58,900,000), Pradeep Nudurumati (189th, VND 52,100,0000.

Talking about the USOP Da Nang 2024 Part 1 Main Event, Pocket52 Team Pro, Dhaval Mudgal shipped a Mystery Rush Bounty. Mudgal took a pay cheque of VND 293,000,000. Another Indian pro and World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, Abhinav Iyer took the fourth position in the Super High Roller tournament. Iyer had a payday of VND 1,223,900,000 ($49,371). 

When it comes to the series, our Indian pros have shown exceptional gameplay to register solid finishes. The USOP 2024 Da Nang Part 1 Mini Main Event saw five Indians finishing in the money. Bhavik Khasturia (36th, VND 69,800,000), Pradeep Nudurumati (30th, VND 69,800,000), Raju Jaruplavath (28th, VND 69,800,000) Daniyal Mohamed Kazi (85th, VND 29,100,000), and Alok Birewar (129th, VND 18,500,000) were among those players who got paid.

Coming to the Freezeout tournament, we have Ashwin Vijay take the 10th place for VND 17,000,000. Midweek Superstack had well-known players Manish Lakhotia (5th, VND 142,700,000), Dhaval Mudgal (41st, VND 15,300,000), and Ashwin Vijay (28th, VND 18,600,000) grab a cash reward.
