While many are still waiting to get their hands on PlayStation 5, it has been reported that Sony is working on bringing PlayStation (PS) games to mobile. PS5 is currently out of stock in many parts of the world including India, keeping many from playing PS exclusive games. The news comes just after the company put out a job listing for its Head of Mobile position for PlayStation Studios.

Among the different specifications, the main focus falls on adapting ‘PlayStation’s biggest franchises for mobile.’ For many gamers, this is the ultimate good news as many exclusive PS titles will now be accessible through their mobile phones. Sony’s plans for taking their popular console games to mobile devices is another indication of the popularity of mobile gaming.

In the past few years, mobile gaming has become one of the biggest and most successful segments in the gaming industry. The influx of gaming smartphones and the deep penetration of data are some of the causes for this growth. However, Sony will not be the first gaming company to do so. Activision-Blizzard is also bringing its popular games to mobile.

PlayStation classics like God of War, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, The Last of Us are just some of the few titles that Sony is looking to convert. If everything goes according to plan, gamers will now be able to play these games on their iOS and Android phones in the future. Its Indian audiences also have more to look forward to as Sony is planning to introduce its PlayStation Now subscription services to India. For now, we can just hope that Sony’s decision will be welcomed by the gaming community.
