Santhosh Suvarna Plays Chess With Alexandra Botez

What happens when a professional chess and poker player is up against you? Well, it is surely going to be a tad bit intimidating, isn’t it? Sure is. Indian-origin poker pro Santhosh Suvarna posted pictures of him playing chess with pro player Alexandra Botez on his Instagram handle. 

The female chess cum poker player who is also a renowned YouTuber, is seen playing the board game with Suvarna in Monte-Carlo. Suvarna, who is the only Indian to win a Triton Poker title is seen all smiles as he plays chess against Botez.

Botez, who was born in Dallas, US, was also grinding at Triton Poker Series Monte Carlo 2023. This poker series was the maiden stop Triton made at this beautiful location. Suvarna made the final table in the $125K NLH Main Event and eventually finished third for a tournament-best score of $1,772,000 (~₹14,73,57,305).

The poker pro from Mangalore is quickly climbing the popularity ladder in the international poker fraternity. After rubbing shoulders with the likes of Jason Koon, Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan and footballer Neymar Jr. among others, Suvarna has put himself on the world map with respect to poker not just by participation but with his incredible run in the card game.

When it came to meeting the stunning Botez in Monte Carlo, Suvarna said, “It was a nice experience. She is a very lovely and warm girl. She’s very good at chess and poker too. We had a friendly chess game and it was a one-sided affair.”Well, what can we say about going up against Botez. 

When it came to poker, Botez has $43,677 as her total live earnings (Hendon Mob), with her win at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) and PSPC 2023, Nassau the only title win to her name. 

At Triton Monte Carlo, the Austin, Texas resident may not have made any significant headway, but marking her attendance was quite crucial for her journey in poker.
