Santhosh Suvarna Eyeing His Second Triton Title At 50K NLH Turbo Event

Indian poker player Santhosh Suvarna, who is currently representing India at the Triton Poker Series North Cyprus 2023, is hunting his second Triton Poker title of his career at the series. He has made it to another final table and this time it is Event 12 $50K NLH Turbo. 

Suvarna entered the FT as the chip leader, leading the six final tablists with a stack of 1,115,000 (37 BB). The next best was Igor Yaroshevskyy, with 1,100,000. The other players on the FT were Brian Kim, Dao Minh Phu and Ding Biao.

The Indian player lost a few pots early on, that dropped him from the lead. However, he eliminated Dao Minh Phu, who was the first casualty on the FT, to regain his lead till the three-handed play. The final three, Suvarna, Yaroshevskyy and Danny Tang, had a swingy play with their stacks almost even. Finally, Tang eliminated Yaroshevskyy to set the heads-up and enter with a massive lead of 3:1.

This is Suvarna’s fourth final table at the series. He kick-started this season by taking down the first event on schedule, the 25K GG Super Millions, grabbing his career-first Triton Poker title. By achieving this he also became India’s first and only Triton Poker title holder. He then made it to the $40L NLH Ft, wherein he finished fourth. Just two days later he finished eighth at the $25K Turbo NLH FT. This event also marks his fifth cash at the event. Apart from the four final tables, he also cashed at the 13th place at $75K NLH event.

The heads-up is currently in play, as both the players eye their second Triton Poker title and the top prize of $545,000. The runner-up gets to take home $376,000 at the second place.
