Santhosh Suvarna Finishes Runner-Up; Narrowly Misses His Second Triton Poker Title

India’s Santhosh Suvarna has finished second at Event 12 $50K NLH Turbo at the ongoing Triton Poker Series North Cyprus 2023 season. The Triton Poker title holder took home $376,000 for his efforts. 

Hong Kong-based Danny Tang claimed his second title by taking down the event for $545,000. Tang entered the heads-up with a chip lead of almost 3:1 after eliminating Igor Yaroshevskyy. Suvarna, who entered the FT as the chip lead, gave Tang a good run for his money, stealing blinds wherever possible. The event had a final prize pool of $1,600,000 which was distributed among the top six final tablists.

In the final hand, both the players put in the minimum to see the flop of 6 ♦ 4 ♣ 8 ❤ . Suvarna checked, but Tang bet 150K. Suvarna, who sat with 9 ♦ 5 ♠, called with a gutshot straight draw, hoping to improve.

2 ♦ showed up on the turn bringing no relief, and Tang with 7 ♠ 8 ♠ c-bet 375K. Suvarna, who was left with just 1.5 Million, made the gutsy all-in move and was called by Tang. The Q ♠ on the river brought disappointment as Suvarna narrowly missed his second Triton Poker title.

Tang, who won his first Triton Poker title earlier this year at Triton Poker Vietnam 2023 edition, added another one to his name by taking down this event. He took home the lion’s share of $545,000 for his top-place finish. Apart from his two titles, the Hong Kong citizen also has 16 Triton Poker cashes to his name. 

On the other hand, Suvarna won his first-ever Triton Poker title at the ongoing series by taking down Event 1 $25K GG Super Millions. This was Suvarna’s fourth FT and fifth cash at the North Cyprus 2023 edition of the series. He made his Triton Poker debut at the Triton Poker North Cyprus 2022 edition, and ever since has a total of seven cashes to his name.
