Ramesh Rao Thotapalli Awarded At The Asia Fashion Awards

Popular poker player and entrepreneur Ramesh Rao Thotapalli, fondly known in the industry as RRT, recently received the Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 Award at the Asia Fashion Awards. 

The award ceremony was held at the Tito’s Arena in Baga, Goa, on Saturday 17th December 2022. Asia Fashion Awards is an initiative by International Fashion Week (IFW) Goa. RRT was awarded with the recognition for his various entrepreneurial ventures in the real money gaming space, including his most recent online poker platform, cards52.com 

IFW along with RRT, shared the announcement of his achievement on their official social media handles.

We reached out to RRT to know what the award meant to him and what it was like to win this award. He said, “It definitely feels great to win this recognition. However, I am more excited that through such awards, I am able to give the real money gaming space a wider and mainstream reach.”

The cards52.com CEO further shares that to date, poker operators are often looked down upon and denied their due respect. He said, “Awards like these can go a long way in changing the perception of people about poker operators, the game, and the industry at large. There have been very few poker operators and stakeholders who have walked up on the stage of mainstream events to receive awards in their domain. I’m glad to get that opportunity through Asia Fashion Awards and be one of the few.” 

IFW Goa described RRT as the ‘most emerging, young, dynamic entrepreneur of the new generation’ who won the prestigious, one of the most promising awards of the year.

RRT launched his online poker platform, cards52.com, in September this year. He later joined hands with IFW Goa as their official gaming partner for their October 2022 event. Thotapalli also walked the ramp at the event to introduce a Goan fabric, the Kunbi saree.
