Qualcomm Launches First Mobile Esports Tournament

The recent years have seen the Esports industry flourish in India. With foreign companies like Noble Esports setting up shop in the country and India based companies like NODWIN Gaming thriving, the Indian Esports community is growing day by day. Even the recent ban of the largely successful PUBG Mobile by the Indian government has not slowed down its pace.

It was earlier this month that Jio had announced their entry into Esports with their JioMart Gamethon. Following this exciting news, Qualcomm the global chipmaker announced the launch of their first mobile Esports program called Snapdragon Conquest in India.

Starting off with the Snapdragon Conquest: Free Fire Open 2020, the tournament will have a total prize pool of INR 50 Lakh! The entry to the tournament is free with no registration fee required. For all avid gamers this is the perfect chance for a shot at this huge prize pool. Qualcomm aims to host more events of this kind in the future, setting off exciting buzz in the Esports community.

“We are really excited about the launch of Snapdragon Conquest, our new gaming program through which we are creating a community that challenges the competitive skills of gamers, allowing us a deeper understanding of the gaming needs of all our users in India,” said Rajen Vagadia, President, Qualcomm India & SAARC.

The tournament will be broadcasted live along with player live streams. The company has not revealed which all games will be a part of the tournament. However, we can expect to see games like PUBG Mobile India, Need For Speed and more.

It is remarkable to see the potential the online gaming market has in India. The widespread availability of 4G and smartphones in the country has propelled the market further than before. Besides this, many gamers in India opt for smartphone for their gaming requirement as it can be used anytime and anywhere.
