Punnat Punsri Wins APT Taipei 2023 Main Event 

After four gruelling starting flights and hard battles in the following days, Thailand’s Punnat Punsri has shipped the coveted Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei 2023 Main Event after defeating South Korea’s Soo Bum Kim in heads-up. The prestigious APT Taipei 2023 Main Event made history as 1,434 players fought tooth and nail for the top title. Punsri, who is number one on Thailand’s All Time Money List, dominated the field since the end of Day 3 and made sure Day 4 was nothing different. 

Punsri dominated the game and never once left his lead. He was leading the final table and was the last man standing when Punsri’s heads-up rival Kim was eliminated in the 2nd place for a payday of TWD 6,375,500 (~$207,730). The APT Taipei 2023 Main Event winner took home the coveted title and a pay cheque of TWD 11,210,400 (~$365,270).

APT Taipei 2023 Main Event 

The final table began with nine players left to lock horns for the title and a shiny new trophy. Talking about Day 4, 17 players came back for the final day grind at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei. Punsri at the start of Day 4 chip lead displayed some impeccable moves to ensure that no other player gets ahead in the game. As determined as Punsri was, his heads-up rival from South Korea did give him a good reason to worry and sweat a bit.

Kim doubled up and Punsri lost chips. It looked like the Thai player was losing his hold, but Kim was never really in a dominant position to completely snatch the game away from his opponent. In the final hand when Punsri hit a flush on the turn it was endgame for this rival who graciously took the runner-up spot and the winner etched his name in poker history after nailing the APT Taipei 2023 Main Event.
