Alexander is a slang used for the King of clubs card which is a direct reference to Alexander the Great. In a deck of cards, the King of each suit was associated with the kings of various civilizations. King of clubs stood for Alexander the great, similarly, Kind of spades was for David, King of hearts was for Charlemagne, and King of diamonds was for Julius Caesar.
