Poker Community Mourns The Loss Of Rohan Das

A rising star in the Indian poker community fell silent today. A well-known name in the poker industry, Rohan Das passed away in his sleep on 21 March 2021. As a recreational poker player who had been in the industry for almost a decade now, Das has been a contributor of Gutshot Magazine and his series ‘Check Please’ is still highly anticipated among the readers; he set the bar high for other contributors in the industry. He was just content to do the best job he could and he always succeeded.

The 30-year-old was reportedly suffering from a liver-related ailment and is said to have a passed away in his sleep. His sudden demise sent shock waves in the Indian poker circuit. The Editor-in-chief of Gutshot Magazine, Peter Abraham penned his thoughts saying, “Rohan’s association with Gutshot goes back a long way and we’re still in a bit of a shock as to what happened. From being a part of our Live reporting team to most recently contributing several articles and pieces for the website, Rohan was an ardent fan of the game. Poker writers in this country are a tiny breed. His writing skills and knowledge of the domestic poker circuit made him one of the few very good writers in this gaming space. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones in this difficult time.”
