Phil Hellmuth Breaks His Own Record After Losing Big On Hustler Casino Live

All is not going well for the 16-time World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner! Why so? Well, Phil Hellmuth lost a massive pot on a live streamed game on Hustler Casino Live. Yes, it’s the same poker room where the infamous or world-famous Robbi Lew – Garrett Adelstein hand played out for the poker universe to watch, analyze and judge. But what happened to Hellmuth? To begin with, ‘Poker Brat’ lost $154,900 (as per the live stream) to his rival Stanley Tang.

But the pro who’s ranked 20th on the All Time Money List (Hendon Mob) played with Dimes and Tang had pocket aces. Hellmuth made a raise of $15,000 from the button and his opponent called. With three straddles, all eyes were on the former WSOP Main Event champ who had his hands full with Tang in the first straddle, Alan Keating (in the second straddle) and Chamath Palihapitiya in the other straddle.

The dealer presented the flop of Qd Jd 4s and Hellmuth with just Td Tc in his hands made a bet of $25,000. Tang shoved $45,700 which led to Keating and Palihapitiya bowing out. But does Hellmuth take it down? Of course not! Remember the call he made the controversial call with Q4o and won?

Anyone watching the stream would know that Hellmuth was in a rather awkward spot. ‘Poker Brat’ knew he could probably beat a draw and had to throw in another $20,700 to see how the hand would unfold. Hellmuth makes the calls and decides to run it twice. Poker gods just did not bless him and Tang scooped the pot worth $154,900 while the Poker Hall of Famer blabbered long and hard about his loss.

Another interesting thing (annoying to the operators of the live stream at Hustler Casino Live) Hellmuth did was that he took to Twitter to express how he felt and to reveal that he broke his own record when it came to losing pots.

The American pro wrote, “Lost personal record (since 2012, roughly 33 sessions) in LIVESTREAM or televised poker: $144,500 on @HCLPokerShow. Tough day! But, game played BIG! Next 10 days: filming @LIVEattheBike 3 times starting tomorrow, and “No Gamble, No Future” twice. Plenty of time to recover!!”

Phil Hellmuth’s tweet

Some of Hellmuth’s followers replied to his tweet stating that they were still watching the stream and that Hellmuth’s tweet was spoiling all the fun. Well, what can one probably say about the record-holding bracelet winner when it comes to following the rules of high stakes live streamed games? You tell us in the comment section below.
