Natural8 ambassador Wongwichit wins APT Online PLO Championships


The ongoing festival running on GGPoker Network Natural8, the inaugural Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series 2020 completed Day 8 with a feature event. We are almost nearing the end of the exciting series which crushed its overall guarantee of INR 1.57 million a few days ago. Now, Short Deck Championships $25K and Championships Event $250k are the two feature events remaining on the list. 

PLO Championships $25,000 GTD

The feature event PLO Championship had a buy-in of $400 attracting 150 entries. The prize pool doubled to become $56,100 and the top 23 players finished in the money. Taking away the valuable title was Natural8 ambassador and Thailand’s Phachara Wongwichit aka ‘Phachara W’ who captured $11,687 in prize money after winning with a set of fives to two pair. Eventually, his opponent ‘Jeff010’ finished in the second place for $8,786. This is Wongwichit’s first APT featured event title, he will also be receiving the APT Guardian Trophy alongside two APT High Rollers awards.

Event 31: Monster Stack $30,000 GTD

Flight C of the tournament was hosted yesterday and another set of 295 runners registered to the field out of which only 104 could progress to the showdown. A total of 549 qualifiers took their seats and 80 players earned from a rich prize pool of $153,994. Leading the charge was Flight A chip leader ‘Dostoevsky’ who was eliminated by ‘Steven van ZZZZZZ’. After playing several hands, the final players settled for a heads-up deal which saw ‘Steven van ZZZZZZ’ earning $24,816 while his opponent ‘singo618’ settled in the runner-up position for $22,306.

Event 36: Pot Limit Omaha $5,000 GTD

Russia’s ‘PodPivkovich’ took down the event on Natural8 after outlasting a field of 159 entries yesterday. With a buy-in $100, the prize pool tripled to become $14,866 and the top 26 places earned a share from the same. ‘PodPivkovich’ captured $2,719 in prize money after defeating ‘LAMJON’ in heads-up who secured $2,547.

A bounty tournament that attracted 275 entries to bring the total prize pool to $51,425. The money reached the top 47 players who walked out with a min-cash. Coming out on top was ‘omeroz01’ who earned $4,888 along with $3,770 in bounties. The champion also collected the highest number of bounties of all players. He defeated ‘d0lores’ in heads-up who settled in the runner-up position for $6,721 and $3,138 bounties.

Total number of 148 entries enrolled in the 38th event on Natural8 for a buy-in of $500, generating a prize pool of $70,300. Taking away the largest chunk of the same was ‘kirrard28’ who banked $14,571 and moved 11th on the leaderboard from rank 39.

The tournament concluded after the players settled for a three-way deal which ultimately saw ‘AAFuxX’ topping the list and earning $2,593 in prize money while ‘DollarDollarBillYo’ settled in 2nd place and ‘MrOnurbs’ in 3rd position.
