‘DblBarrel’ wins APT Online 2020 ME; Championships Event Still to Come!

The online poker platforms across the world are buzzing with immense action. The 2020 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series took off on Natural8 a couple of weeks ago and players from Asia and beyond have shown much interest, such that the $1.57 million series guarantee has been crushed within six days. So far, 35 tournaments have concluded and yesterday ultimately crowned the APT Online Main Event champion, ‘DblBarrel’ who rode past the field to grab $91,353 in prize money!

Main Event $200,000 GTD

The star attraction of the series was the APT Online Main Event that ran between 3 – 5 May hosting 5 starting flights. Day 1E registered 279 entries out of which only 95 could progress along with the 320 qualified players from previous flights. The guarantee was crushed to create a juicy prize pool of $578,075 and 170 players cashed from the same.

It took nearly five hours before the champion was announced. After the dismissal of ‘Kryptonite8899’ in the third place, ‘DblBarrel’ entered the heads-up play with 3:5:1 ahead of his opponent ‘Olekonjole’. Ten minutes later, the latter doubled up but still remained way behind. Soon, ‘DblBarrel’ dominated his opponent with Ks Qh over Ad 3s and shipped the competition earning the APT Guardian Trophy and also finding himself second on the APT Player of the Series leaderboard.

Event 31: Monster Stack $30,000 GTD

After paying $300, a total of 254 runners joined the tournament to double up and create $71,527 in prize pool on Natural8. The event comprises of three starting flights, Flight A attracted 115 entries out of which 41 survived and Flight B enrolled 139 entries and 50 progressed to the showdown. The third starting flight is scheduled to start today, 6 May at 16:00 (HKT). The overall chip leader is ‘Dostoevsky’ who accumulated a stack of 247,111 in Flight A while ‘-MortenVM-‘ in the second place bagging 232,818 chips.

Event 32: High Rollers $30,000 GTD

More than tripling the advertised guarantee to create $111,150 in prize pool, the 32^nd event attracted 117 entries after each chipped in $1,000. The money was distributed among the top 17 places but the one to grab the largest share was ‘tikkapokka’ who emerged victorious after knocking out ‘mon$terDad’ in heads-up to bag $24,362 in prize money.

Once again, the guarantee was crushed to become $38,148 in prize pool and it was ‘Floatingworld’ to take home $7,460 in prize money on Natural8. The event attracted 204 entries for a buy-in of $200 and the top 35 places earned a min-cash. ‘Floatingworld’ knocked out ‘reofa’ in heads-up who settled in the second-place banking $5,518.

The buy-in decreased to become $100 and the event attracted 205 entries who pounced on the field to hunt for the title. The top 35 finishers benefited from $19,167 prize pool. It all came to an end with a 4-way deal that eventually saw ‘JACKPOT.’ topping the list and earning $2,222 in cash prize while his opponents ‘Pokahontaz’ settled in the second position, ‘WinEasy’ third and ‘GoedkoopHoertje’ in the 4^th place.

The final event of the day drew 465 entries as the buy-in went all the way down to $50. This led to the creation of $21,318 in prize pool that was well-received by the top 71 finishers on Natural8. Coming out on top was ‘Buddha Kid’ who pocketed the winner’s prize money of $3,067 after the players struck a heads-up deal which saw ‘RED LCH’ securing the second-place payout of $3,584.
