Monday Round Up: Ujjwal Narwal & Vinay Rajpal Taste Victory On The Online Felts


While the Monday action on the online poker felts was a lot quieter than it was on the weekend, players were full of gusto to grind hard. As India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 continued to rage, other poker platforms also had their fair share of tournaments. Apart from grinding in the IOPC July 2021 tournaments, pros like Nitin Arora, Mithun Mahesh, Rubin Labroo, Sahil Mahboobani, Manish Lakhotia, Laksh Pal Singh and more also participated in tournaments on Adda52, PokerBaazi, and PokerStars. The poker fever is on the rise, let’s take a look at Monday’s top winners.

Iron Man – ₹8 Lakh GTD

The Iron Man tournament is an Adda52 Monday classic. The ₹2,000 buy-in tournament drew a total of 452 entries and surpassed its initial prize pool. The final prize pool stood at ₹8,22,643. Every player gave his/her best shot, but only those who were placed in the top 49 places made it in the money. Each of these 49 entries took home a min-cash of ₹4,525.

It was Ujjwal Narwal aka ‘fourteenk’ who shipped the tournament and walked away with a paycheque of ₹2,01,547. Narwal defeated Mithun Mahesh aka ‘Themiths’ who got the runner-up spot for ₹1,19,283. Just yesterday, Mahesh managed to clinch PokerBaazi’s SuperStack tourney for ₹4.23 Lakh.

Some of the pros who made money were Rony Chowdhury (3rd, ₹82,264), Mohit Mehta (5th,₹41,132), Amit Kaushik (9th,₹13,162), Nitin Arora (14th, ₹8,226), Atishay Samuel (22nd, ₹6,170), Amit Gaikwad (23rd, ₹6,170), Aman Chauhan (26th,₹5,347), India Poker Championship (IPC) January 2020 winner Rubin Labroo (28th,₹5,347), Sahil Mahboobani (32nd, ₹5,347), Megastack winner Manish Lakhotia (38th, ₹4,525), and IOPC January 2021 winner, Laksh Pal Singh (44th, ₹4,525).

The Big Show – ₹7.5 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi’s The Big Show event was a tremendous success with over 410 total entries slogging it out. The ₹2,750 buy-in tournament also managed to crush its original guarantee and set the final prize pool at ₹10,25,000. Among the sea of players, only the top 45 entries got a piece of the reward. Top 45 players got a min-cash of ₹5,740.

The final heads-up match was between IOPC July 2021 All Rounder winner, Vinay Rajpal aka ‘vinay09’ and Ashwani Vishwakarma aka ‘Leokarma2609.’ While many expected the two would battle it out for the top spot, instead they shook hands and made a deal. Between them, it was Rajpal who got the title. He added ₹1,84,000 to his bankroll. Vishwakarma took home ₹1,82,000 in earnings.

Sanket Arora (5th, ₹53,810), Ranjeet Negi (6th, ₹43,050), Ankit Wadhawan (7th, ₹35,880), IOPC reg Vikranth Varma (9th, ₹21,530), Shashank Desai (10th, ₹15,68), Laksh Pal Singh (13th, ₹12,810), Vivek Bajaj (15th, ₹12,810), Rishab Malik (16th, ₹10.97), Guruprasad Gupta (17th,₹10,970), Pranay Chawla (24th, ₹8,610), Anurag Srivastava (26th ₹7,585) WSOP bracelet winner, Kartik Ved who fired four bullets and came 35th for ₹6,662, Nitin Arora (36th, ₹6,662), Bharat Vasan (39th, ₹5,740), The Summit winner, Kunal Patni after firing fired 5 bullets came in 40th position for ₹5,740, and the Godfather winner, Sahil Mahboobani who fired 3 bullets only to come in 43rd place for ₹5,740 were some of the players who made it to the top 45 places.

Battle Royale – ₹5 Lakh GTD

The fight was tough in PokerStars India’s Battle Royal event. The ₹5 Lakh guarantee tournament welcomed 200 entries into its fold. Each of these entries paid a buy-in of ₹2,750 for a shot at the lucrative title spot. Only the top 23 places were given a slice of the prize pool and were each paid a min-cash of ₹3,543.

Among these, mystery player ‘anuragaces’ and Manish Lakhotia aka ‘theoldestkid’ were the last two players standing. The tournament ended with both players striking a deal. The two winners took home a prize money of ₹43,072 each. Lakhotia also managed to ship the IOPC July 2021 Monday Spotlight event on the same day for ₹1.52 lakh.

Adarsh Subham (3rd, ₹27,899), Kartik Ved (4th,₹21,025), Amit Kaushik (7th,₹8,999), Nitin Rawat (12th,₹5,144), 2020 Millionaire Main Event winner, Anurag Srivastava (17th, ₹4,269) were among those who made money.
