Live Poker Rooms in Philippines

The poker scene in the Philippines started in 2006 with one poker room that only offered Texas Hold’em. However, the brick-and-mortar poker rooms opened up doors for the live poker boom, especially after the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) held its event in Manila in August 2007. 

Since 2008, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) has also extended satellites abroad to APT events in the Philippines. The poker community in the country truly flourished, with PokerStars and Poker King Club also making Manila its new home. It resulted in a solid influx of international poker players visiting the country for prestigious tournaments like the APPT, APT and World Poker Tour (WPT), amongst others. 

With one of Asia’s most favourable jurisdictions in terms of licensing and gaming regulations, the Philippines has become a hot spot for poker on the continent. The casinos have been open to locals and foreigners since 1976, citing the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

It is worth noting that while No Limit Hold’em (NLH) is one of the most played formats of the game and is widely available, players can also get into other games like Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) and Open Face Chinese Poker (OFC) in the Philippines.

While multiple cities have casinos and various gambling facilities, Manila remains the centre of attraction for the poker scene in the Philippines. With an 800 sq. ft. facility and over 30 poker tables with a billiards area, the Metro Card Club is the biggest poker room in the Philippines. This poker room is filled with players any time of the day or night as it is open 24/7. Located at the heart of the Metropolis, the Metro Card Club is known to cater to the local poker community and is fondly named ‘The Metro’. Resorts World Manila

Placed in Newport City, the Resorts World Manila (RWM) is located opposite the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay, Metro Manila. An integrated tourist hub, Resorts World Manila opened its doors in 2009.

The resort boasts various entertainment spots, restaurants, and casinos, as well as a 1,500-seat theatre and a luxury mall alongside three hotels: Remington Hotel, the 5-star Marriott Hotel Manila, and Maxims Hotel. It is also worth noting that Resorts World Manila has a dedicated poker room home to the APT for all its events.

PokerStars Live Manila Okada

PokerStars opened their first ever PokerStars LIVE Manila poker room in December 2014. While it was located at the City of Dreams Manila in Parañaque City, Metro Manila, it was shifted to a new venue – the Okada Manila, in November 2018. 

Okada Manila is one of the largest integrated resorts that has facilities for Southeast Asia’s biggest indoor beach club, night club, and the largest multicolour dancing water feature. With 12 dining outlets and a variety of international cuisines on offer, the PokerStars Live Manila Okada is a must-visit place.

The gaming floor at PokerStars LIVE Manila offers 500 table games with fourteen cash game tables. Poker King Club in Solaire Manila

The Poker King Club opened the doors to its new poker room at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila in May 2015. This poker room offers various beverages and food options for free with the Solaire property, including five food outlets named Dragon Bar, Lucky Noodles, Finestra, Strip Steakhouse, and Yakumi.

The Poker King Club is known for its cash games that vary from low to the highest stakes for No-Limit Hold’em and PLO games, which range from ₱50/100 to ₱5000/10000.

Red Dragon Poker Manila

The Red Dragon Poker Room in Manila offers No Limit Texas Hold’em and PLO, while you can request other games as well. The venue has 16 poker tables, accommodating private tournaments and big tournament events.

Located near the SM Mall of Asia, NAIA International Airport, and Okada Manila, 2Ace Poker Manila is a place where you can play 24/7 cash games. Wild Aces Poker Sports Club (Angeles)

Amongst the oldest places to play poker, the Wild Aces Poker Sports Club has existed since Texas Hold’em was first played in the Philippines. Located in the Northern area of the country, the Wild Aces Poker Sports Club is the longest-running poker room. 

From a casual place that hosts home games to a fully licensed poker room, this venue is located in Angeles City, Pampanga. You can find a lot of foreign poker players on the tables of Wild Aces Poker, just a 30-minute drive from the Clark International airport. However, the venue has many micro-limit games, too, giving local players a chance to play despite the international clientele. 

The buy-in for Hold’em games can be as low as ₱1,000.00 and go up to ₱10,000.00, with PLO games also available upon demand. The Wild Aces Poker Sports Club also hosts multiple tournaments based on the day of the week.
