When it comes to poker, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the biggest poker event in the world. It is a global stage where poker players from all walks of life come to prove their mettle in this game of skill. . Through the years, the WSOP bracelet has become synonymous with poker greatness and the more bracelets a player has, the better he’s considered to be at the game. Due to this, the bracelet has become one of the most prized possessions, worth contesting for.
The Brazil-born poker pro George Danzer is a well-known player in the poker community and has four WSOP bracelets to his name. Before his success as a professional poker player, Danzer was also a proficient Chess player. He played the World Youth Championship for Portugal as the sub 10 Portuguese Champion. He also finished 3rd at the World Heads Up Poker Championship in Barcelona (May 2006). While there are quite a few poker players with four WSOP bracelets or more, Danzer’s WSOP achievement is slightly unique given that he won his first three bracelets in a single year.
His first WSOP bracelet came when he won the $10,000 Seven Card Razz for $294,792. He then went on to ship the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Split-8 or Better for $3,52,696. In that same year, Danzer also went on to play the 2014 WSOP Asia Pacific held in Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. This is when the German poker pro clinched his third WSOP bracelet at the $5,000 Mixed Event 8-Game for $84,600. His fourth and last bracelet came when he shipped the $10,000 Seven Stud Hi-Lo Split-8 or Better game at the 2016 WSOP for $338,646.
Danzer was also a Team PokerStars Pro and clinched two World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) titles. The first WCOOP title was won in the WCOOP 2009 $320 Pot-Limit Omaha event for $109,545 and his second one was at the WCOOP 2012 where he shipped the $320 No-Limit Hold’em event for $69,717. Apart from this he also won four Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) with his first one being in 2010, where he shipped the $162 Fixed-Limit Badugi event for $10,345.

By looking at Danzer’s coveted WSOP titles, it is clear that he’s a versatile poker player. With bracelets and online titles won across poker variants, one can surely conclude that Danzer is a passionate poker pro. His amazing feat at the WSOP 2014 also earned him the title of WSOP Player of the Year, 2014.

According to Hendon Mob, Danzer’s total live earnings stand at $2,743,279 and he is ranked 652nd in the all-time money list. His best live cash was $388,523 which he earned at the WSOP 2013 after he finished at the 5th place in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship.
While it’s been years since Danzer last won a WSOP bracelet, his time on the poker felts was something that many envied. With a brilliant poker career to his credit, it will be exciting to see him win another WSOP bracelet. Until then, one can only wish the very best to this amazing poker player.
