Kunal Patni: This Poker Pro is the perfect travel buddy one can wish for

Banker turned poker pro Kunal Patni is one of the most well-known players in the Indian poker circuit. Patni actively played the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) January 2021. Currently, Patni is the captain of Deccan Aces team in Poker Sports League Season 3 Virtual.

This pro has been active on Instagram since 2014 and his feed boasts of travel, poker milestones, funny videos and more.
Patni, who is an active traveller, always takes to Instagram and shares his passion with the world. Here’s why we believe that his Instagram feed could take you on a virtual tour across the world. He has travelled to Scotland, Switzerland, Portugal, Estonia, Las Vegas, London, and several other places.

A few months ago, Patni posted an image of an empty Colombo International Airport, signifying how he missed travelling and how the pandemic played spoilsport for globetrotters. Though this was the story from the lockdown period, the current travel and vacation scenario is fast changing. He is also very good at clicking selfies at picturesque places and capturing beautiful moments. Patni says that his love affair with travelling began 11-12 years ago. He mentions, “Before becoming a poker player, my wife and I used to travel at least 3-4 times in a year. We would do a mix of the most travelled and the least travelled places. I firstly read up a lot about the place. When we went to Scotland, we heard about a few villages in Northern Scotland. Since we had taken a car, we opted to explore and were successful too.”

Las Vegas is the dream destination for any poker player. Patni took to his Instagram to share pictures when he participated in the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. He posted pictures in a suave business class airplane and then one more right in front of the Bellagio, Las Vegas.

Portugal

Patni gave us a stunning view of the Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in Mainland Portugal. We believe he surely had a great time on the ice-clad mountains as he had uploaded a few images of a chapel, spruce trees among other things.
Patni says, “I love driving. So, as soon as we land at the airport, we hire a car at the airport itself. So we drove throughout and I sincerely believe that it is the best way to explore a country.”

As much as Patni loves the mountains and capturing photos of cotton candy clouds, he loves the ocean equally. This poker pro has captured the hues of the sky and the sea while he was on Cape St Vincent. While talking about why he specifically chose Portugal, Patni says, “Since the past 5-6 years after I became a full-time poker player, I have a few restrictions with respect to travelling. I usually plan my trips in and around the city or country where any poker series is going on. The trip to Portugal was planned as I also had to attend the World Poker Tour event taking place in Barcelona. And since we both had not visited that place, we decided to take that trip.”

From images next to the London eye, attending a dance music festival held in Tomorrowland, Barcelona, Patni has done it all. He surely has an eye for beautiful destinations.
