King’s Resort Rozvadov and King’s Casino Prague reopens on 11 May

It was the beginning of March when World Health Organization (WHO) warned the world as an “uncharted territory” with the rapid spread of COVID-19. And it has been weeks since the pandemic forced businesses around the country to close their doors. If we go through the list of affected sectors and companies the casinos around the globe, their owners and workers have suffered tremendously, almost losing millions each day.

In March, Europe’s biggest casino, King’s Resort closed doors for Italian players after Italy reported numerous positive cases. Eventually, on 3 April, with the overwhelming number of deaths in Czech, the casino announced that it will remain close to all visitors until 1 September 2020, declaring a “multi-month ban…but at least six months.”

Now with the reducing number of cases, King’s in its recent press release stated, “King’s Resorts Rozvadov, King’s Casino Prague and Admiral Casino Rozvadov open again on May 11th at 15:00!” However, only live games like roulette, Black Jack and Slots will be available. Further stating that live poker tournaments won’t take place now as the situation still stands delicate “we hope we can start them soon as well!”

Czech Republic eased restrictions a few days ago after a drop in new cases that sparked optimism among the citizens. The country lifted a ban on non-essential movement, travel abroad and allowing up to 10 people meet in public.

Quite recently, the giant Wynn Resorts requested to restart the business in May with Nevada’s Governor Steve Sisolak receiving an open letter by CEO of Wynn Resorts, Matt Maddox saying, “They only way to cross the river is one stone at a time, and we need to put our feet in the water before it is too late.”

King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik said, “Closed casinos cost me the same as open casinos and I can’t wait to welcome guests again.” In order to reopen safely, casinos will have to figure out a way to change the environment and few procedures to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. King’s announced that they are in process of implementing their health and safety strategy by maintaining hygiene standards, including hand sanitizers for guests and frequent disinfection of all areas.
