Day 12 of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) kept the momentum going and witnessed a fantastic turnout for many of its tournaments. The first flight for the Main Event – The Crown also took place with a good number of entries. The day saw Aniket Waghmare as The Millionaire Legends champion. The Millionaire Legends completely crushed the original prize pool with a buy-in of INR 27,500. The final prize pool stood at INR 1,92,50,000. An impressive min-cash of INR 48,125 was given to the top 111 entries in the field. The final table saw 6 skilled players make it to the digital felts which was live streamed on January 25, 2021 at 6 PM IST. It was here that Aniket Waghmare aka ‘Ntwadumela’ bagged the top spot and won a whopping INR 36,36,325. Right behind him in second place was Ashish Munot aka ‘Donkey 07’ who walked away with INR 22,15,675.
The first event of the day, IOPC #75 saw a turnout of 643 total entries out of which the top 31 places were paid a min-cash of INR 2,640. The tournament ended in a deal between Arjanveer Singh Chadha aka ‘bazzingaa’ and Chintan Naik aka ‘UnlukcyLoser.’ Both took home a prize money of INR 55,413 and INR 50,756 respectively. Chadha is a dedicated poker player and has shipped various events on multiple platforms. Among his many wins, he has shipped Adda52‘s INR 15 Lakhs GTD The Whale in November 2018 and INR 20 Lakhs GTD The Godfather 6.0 that same year.
A number of 312 total entries played in the tournament which had a buy in of INR 1,650. The top 27 entries walked home with a min-cash of INR 5,500 in the bank. Siddharth Ojha aka ‘SidSparta21’ once again bagged the first place and took home INR 1,21,825 in winnings. In level #45, player ‘Vivky3160‘ shoved an all-in on the flop with hole cards A♦️ K♦️. Ojha calls with cards T♣️ Q♠️ and the board opens with him completely crushing his opponent who took home INR 82,225 in winnings.
The well-known Monster Stack tournament surpassed its initial prize pool which scaled up to INR 528000. The buy-in stood at INR 880. Top 55 places walked away with a min-cash of INR 2,587. Popular poker player Anirban Das aka ‘pokernoob’ entered the tournament with 3:1 chip lead. On level #57, he decided to go all-in on the pre-flop stage with hole cards 8♦️ A♥️ while player ‘joey114114’ called all-in with his pocket kings. The board opened with both getting two pairs but Das won the game with a higher AA99. Das aka ‘pokernoob’ who cashed INR 1,02,432 while ‘joey114114’ walked home with INR 64,944 in winnings. Das is a well-known name in the poker circuit. He claimed Spartan Poker‘s INR 6 Lakhs GTD Daredevil title in January 2019 and also has won previous IOPC tournaments around the same time.
The first flight of the most awaited tournament of IOPC Main Event saw a total of 450 entries. The buy-in for the tournament was INR 11,000. ‘borntrouble’ was the first chip leader with a stack of 242,949 while Raghav Bansal aka ‘thatssosick’ came in second with a chip stack of 234,680.
The Recharge tournament was the perfect addition to the poker fiesta on a Monday. Out of the massive field of 1,061 entries and a buy-in of INR 2,200 it was the top 103 entries that were paid a min-cash of INR 5,940. Sanat Mehrotra aka ‘avneed’ entered the Recharge tournament with a massive 11:1 chip lead. In level #57, his opponent ‘nslookup’ went all-in on pre-flop with hole cards T♠️ 9♠️ but lost to Mehrotra who scored two pairs on the river. It was after this showdown that Mehrotra took home INR 4,16,680, the largest piece of the prize pool while player ‘nslookup’ got INR 2,54,980 in winnings. Mehrotra has multiple titles to his name and even had a dream run where he shipped three titles on Day 7 of IOPC January 2021.
The advertised prize pool for IOPC #79 was crushed and stood at an impressive INR 7,41,000. The tournament had a buy-in of INR 3,300 and the top 23 out of the total 247 entries were paid a min-cash of INR 8,595. It was Nitin Arora aka ‘Demogorgon’ who brought the tournament to a close after defeating player ‘hawes’ with an 8-4 straight on the river. Arora walked home with INR 1,72,282 in winnings while ‘hawes’ bagged INR 1,16,707. Arora is not a stranger to the online poker circuit and has claimed titles in multiple online tournaments. Among his wins, he has shipped titles like Spartan Poker‘s INR 20 Lakhs GTD Destiny in July 2018 and another Destiny title in March 2019.
The intense action of Day 12 ended with this tournament. The playing field had a total of 425 entries who battled it out for the top spot. But it was only the top 39 players that made the cut and walked home with a min-cash of INR 6,900. After a long fight, the two players namely ‘borntrouble’ and ‘ASG9611’ entered a deal. Varma added INR 1,74,658 to his bankroll while player ‘ASG9611’ had INR 1,59,141 in winnings. Among his many wins, Varma had shipped Adda52’s INR 30 Lakhs GTD The Godfather in August 2020, PokerBaazi‘s INR 5 Lakhs GTD PMVS #21 and INR 6 Lakhs GTD Grinders Series Main Event and in May 2020 and June 2020 respectively.
