Garena Free Fire, and DJ Alok will collectively invest ₹6 crore for youth development programs in India. The programs will focus on providing educational opportunities for over 4,000 children in the country. DJ Alok and his wife Dr. Romana Novais run a non-profit organisation called ‘Alok Institute.’ The institute which supports personal growth and social transformation is based in Brazil. It also provides support to initiatives of development in Africa and India. By collaborating with Alok Institute, Garena aims at empowering Indian youth with skills and self-reliance through the joint initiative.
Garena Free Fire and DJ Alok will raise funds through their long-term content partnership. The investment will be focused on promoting education for underserved children, protection of children from child labour, holistic enrichment of villages, and scale up the work of innovative young change-makers across India.
Garena Free Fire and Alok Institute will partner with three leading non-profit organisations for the same.
Talking about the initiative, the Brazilian DJ said, “India has a special place in my heart and my career, and I want to express my gratitude by giving back to the community. Alok Institute’s mission is to promote transformational changes and improve the lives of thousands of people. Each of the organizations we are working with embodies that ethos by focusing on programs that deliver tangible outcomes.”
DJ Alok is also a Free Fire player and is popular for his Free Fire streams in India. The battle royale game also has a DJ Alok character in-game, which has a special ability called ‘Drop the Beat.’ The ability of the character can create a 5-metre aura around the player and also restores some health for 5 seconds. Additionally, the ability can also increase the movement speed of the teammates by 10%.
