From Construction To Poker, Vikaash Shah Has Crossed A Solid Bridge

Vikaash Shah is a well-known name in the Indian poker circuit with some impressive runs in both live and online poker. With Natural8 India offering an India-exclusive tournament for APT Taipei 2024, there was no way Shah would have missed it. This semi-professional poker player participated in the qualifier and finished in the third position with a stack of 133,334 chips.

The final table of this tournament was set with top 6 players and the game will resume on 4th March at 12 PM in Taipei. The top 3 finishers will get tickets to the Main Event worth ₹1.85 Lakh each while the remaining three players will receive tickets to the Mini Main Event worth ₹60K each.

Wonder how his path crossed with poker? Shah reveals that he started playing poker 7-8 years ago. When asked about what pulled him towards poker, Shah gave an interesting answer. He said the card game helped in developing an ability to understand players’ behaviour which further enables you to have a better read on them. Shah also added that the mind sport will test your levels of patience. And these aspects about the game really made it an easy decision to jump into the pool.

While the attraction to poker is pretty solid, Shah has now limited his time on the felts due to personal engagements. But the businessman cum poker player sounded quite excited about grinding in APT as this would be his first time at the Asian series. He has been a regular at the World Poker Tour (WPT) events held in the Asian continent with a title win (₱15,000 NLH Megastack Event #20 – WPT Manila, February 2020) and deep runs to his credit.

We also questioned Shah about his most memorable time on the felts and this B.Com graduate revealed that scoring his biggest live cash worth $35,170 from a NLHE game during WPT Prime Cambodia March 2023 was his fondest memory.

Well, what can we say about this player, except for that his rivals in the India-exclusive tournament need to keep a close eye on him. With the third highest stack in his kitty, Shah will look to grab that valuable ticket to the APT Taipei Main Event 2024.
