Doug Polk And Tom Dwan To Lock Horns In A $1 Million Bet?

A lot can happen over a tweet. Doug Polk offered a $1 million bracelet bet to Tom Dwan on Twitter and said that there’s zero chance that the challenge will be accepted. The backstory to this tweet is that Polk has been attempting to find out who is the greatest poker player of all time on his YouTube podcast.

While fans were eagerly voting for the top 20, a fan voted for Dwan. While Polk was discussing and debating about the top 20 selections, he was mystified when this fan voted for ‘durrr’ among the best ever players. Checkout Polk’s YouTube podcast here:

Polk said, “I understand that Tom Dwan embodies a generation of poker players, I understand that he was the Golden Boy, but I want to burst the bubble for so many people. There are so many reasons why Tom Dwan should not be in the top 20 here. And the reason he is in the top 20 is that he is an extremely popular player.”

Yet another well-known grinder Shaun Deeb disagreed with Polk and added that if there was a bracelet bet between Polk and Dwan, the latter would win. Here’s what he tweeted:

Who would win if a bracelet bet event took place? 

Polk’s live tournament records are much better than that of Dwan’s. Polk has won three prestigious World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelets while Dwan has none. Polk has 12 WSOP cashes while Dwan has 10. With respect to overall live tournament cashes too, Polk nearly has double the amount as compared to Dwan. Polk is leading with $9.4 million overall live cashes while Dwan has $5 million. Only time will tell if Dwan would accept the bet and take the challenge.
