Antonio Esfandiari, a well-known name in the international poker circuit, has disappeared from the poker scene in the last few years. The high-stakes superstar was last seen grinding out at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), where he played the 82nd WSOP Main Event in 2019. 

Also known as ‘The Magician’, the fierce competitor hasn’t cashed in a tournament since then and also stepped away from an occasional WSOP commentating gig with Norman Chad and Lon McEachern. Does Antonio Esfandiari Still Play Poker?

Esfandiari is known for his power-packed poker career since he grabbed the limelight by winning the 2004 Los Angeles Poker Classic to pocket $1.4 Million. In 2012, he also won the WSOP Big One for One Drop event to pocket $18,346,000, which remains among the top all-time poker earnings. He has accumulated over $27 Million in live tournament earnings so far. 

Esfandiari has been among the most entertaining players over the last twenty years. An intelligent and fearless person on the table, he was often seen with his long-time table buddy Phil Laak. However, Esfandiari left the OG High Stakes Poker show to focus on his life with his wife and three children.

However, The Magician was soon back on the tables. Esfandiari, who was considered a partially retired poker pro, was seen making his debut on PokerGo’s Season 10 of High Stakes Poker.

Bill Perkins, Robert Sanchez, and Roger Sippl joined him on the show for the first time in 2023. In conclusion, despite not being a regular poker pro, Esfandiari continues to grind on the cash tables and some selective tournaments occasionally.
