Daniel Negreanu Wanted To Smash The Selfie Stick In David Peters’ Head After WSOP 2022 Bad Beat?

Remember the infamous selfie stick incident involving Daniel Negreanu and David Peters? No? Let us tell you in brief. It was World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022 and Peters served a soul crushing bad beat to DNegs which led to the six-time WSOP bracelet winner bang the camera on the table, throwing the tripod at the wall whilst fuming at the bad beat (a runner-runner flush is brutal). DNegs’ pocket tens were rendered useless and Peters was happy to rob chips from the GGPoker ambassador.

Cut to the time when Negreanu spoke to Will Jaffe on Tough Conversations about what exactly went down during that incident (it was a legit blow up).

‘KidPoker’ was in no mood to take it down or mince words. The Canadian pro stated in his reply to Jaffe that Peters wasn’t hurt during that incident. He goes on to add that not single chip went in Peters’ direction.

To put things in perspective, Negreanu did one good deed of shedding light on what would’ve happened back then if he had taken things too far. DNegs said, “I would have smashed that tripod in his head.” He also revealed that Peters doesn’t play a hand against him.

The Super High Roller Bowl VII winner warned that if Peters ever dared 3-bet him or get it in like he did back in WSOP 2022, he will reach out for something to hit Peters (unapologetically).

Jaffe tells Negreanu that Peters was traumatised  after the incident and demanded an apology. DNegs laughed at the mention of an apology.

We are utterly grateful for DNegs not smashing the camera or the tripod into Peters’ head or elsewhere, as that would make for an ugly sight, besides being wrong.

Currently, WSOP 2023 is underway, and Negreanu hasn’t won any bracelets yet. His hunt for a WSOP gold bracelet continues, but his vlogging is going pretty solid.
